a hundred you can count on.

Still very little notable activity in the kitchen. I've kept my baking to a minimum since becoming unable to fit in my jeans. However, I vow to make a day trip to Portland before summer is over and will hopefully relish at least a piece of the city's finds.

In the meantime, Hannah of Bittersweet just posted the revised Vegan's Hundred, and I accept her challenge to complete it. As proprietor of this blog, I challenge you to do the same.

I need to do this!! I"m not sure I would try vegan haggis. The texture of canned faux meats awakens my upchuck reflex.... I have tried that vegan caviar stuff... just gooey and salty.

Hope you get to visit Portland soon!!

Oh - Mama VeeGee - gazpacho is so good! And it's very easy to make. It's a great summer soup if you have good local ingredients -- basically, seed a tomato, cut the seeds out of a cucumber, throw'em in a blender with some onion, garlic and a bit of parsley -- whir! You've got gazpacho. You can skip the croutons since you don't like soggy bread.

My list is up but I take exception to the addition of highly processed and packaged foods like soy whipped cream and fake meats, so I've made a "crunchy vegan 100" version of the list, reinstating some items from the original -- like rose harissa, ZOMG! the yum!

I'm with you, Vegan_Noodle. Canned faux meat is almost more of a novelty item than a food.

Jennconspiracy, I will end up eating gazpacho sometime I'm sure. I don't mind a raw soup, if it isn't too cold. Nice variation with the nonprocessed list!
